La historia lo ha demostrado una y otra vez que nunca hay que confiar en
Microsoft. Si no preguntenle a IBM, a Macintosh, a Norton, a Netscape, etc,
etc.
Mictrosoft solo busca otra buena fuente de ingresos a futuro. Quiere que el
mundo se haga dependiente de sus protocolos de comunicación.

Un parrafo de este artículo dice:
Microsoft issued a "covenant not to sue" open-source developers if their
programs incorporate patented elements of its communications protocols

En el mismo covenio Microsoft excluyó a las distribuciones comerciales, es
decir, a estas si las demandará:
However, the company specifically excluded commercially distributed
open-source software from the promise.

Ahora fijense lo que Steve Ballmer dice al final de la entrevista:

*BRAD SMITH:* With respect to other (commercial) distributors, and users,
the clear message is that patent licenses will be freely available.

*STEVE BALLMER:* Patents will be, not freely, will be available.

*BRAD SMITH:* Readily available.

*STEVE BALLMER:* Readily available for the right fee.


¿Se dan cuenta? A final de cuentas lo que Microsoft quiere es que también
los usuarios de Open Source les paguemos por una cosa o por otra. Eso es lo
que buscaban con el acuerdo que firmaron con Novell pero les tronó en la
cara gracias al GPL 3
